hi joe, i just read your book cry silent tears and i can tell you i cryed through reading most of it as the disgust of how your family treated you was sickening and very disturbing. I hated them for what they did to you and part of me was hoping they dropped dead to leave you alone or was arrested and sent to prison for life for imprisoning you.
im only 17 and i can tell you, you are a credit to people out there. dont let anyone ever tell you anything different!
i would love to read your second book and i cant tell you how happy i am now that you have now got a loving family of your own which i hope is bringing you alot of happiness.

hello, i brought your book about two weeks ago because some one told me about it,and i can say i didnt put that book down for 2 days reading it, i was in shock to read the things that happend to you, it seems so un real that your own mother could do such as thing as well as the others, i think i find it so upsetting is becuase i didnt relise that cases of child asbuse are this extream in some cases, i no i am so lucky to have a mum like mine.
i admire your bravry and the way you have told this story, i dont no you at all so i felt a little silly wanting to write to you but i can truly say im so happy that now u are finally happy and i wish a world of luck upon you becuse you really do deserve it

Your book reduced me to tears, I hope the message can help save other children. I work in the mental health field and it is now mandatory for all staff visiting in the community to be trained in child protection, we also have a collegue who works closely to address any concerns that are raised by community nurses.

I have recently read your book....I'm not really sure what to say to a man that can come through what you did and be able to tell the story for the whole world to read. I dont read books ever, you are my second book that i have ever finished the 1st being a book called ADDICT which was many years ago. You touched me in a way i never thought possible through a book. I cried from start to finish. your wife and kids are so very lucky to have a brave man like you blessing their lives. I hope that your book spreads far and wide for this disgusting way of life for so many kids can come to an end.

Joe, I saw your book in Tesco today and was drawn to it - the picture I think. Read the blurb on the back and thought I just couldn't buy it but I did read the last page. How bad is that! Have read alot of really sad books over the last few years (starting with A boy called 'IT') I finish them and feel so sad and utterly helpless that I stopped reading these sort of books altogether. I looked on your web site and have red some of the guestbook entries - I will read your book soon. If doing so helps in any way then it will be worth it. You are in my thoughts. Stay strong x

i am currently readin ur book, got to the 12th chapter.. am usually not much of a reader, but i can't stop reading it.. ur story is sad, breathtaking, yet very inspiring..i admire the brave effort u did to recall all these horrific memories..
