Joe Peters Leads Authorities To The UK’s Most Wanted Paedophile
Police launch hunt as sex offender vanishes
28/ 4/2007 by the Rochdale Observer
A MANHUNT has been launched following the disappearance of a Littleborough paedophile.
Andrew Eden, who was jailed in 2001 for molesting a child four times, has been listed as one of the nation’s most wanted criminals.
The ex-fireman was released from prison four years ago and placed on the sex offenders’ register for life.
But he has since vanished, having failed to notify the police of his current address.
As a result, his details have been posted on a website run by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, which has helped track down five missing convicts since its launch last year.
Eden is thought to have lived across the UK and Northern Ireland, with his last-known address in Manchester, but may have moved further afield.
Three cash withdrawals made in Mexico were listed under his name in 2005.
Detective Chief Inspector Carol Ashworth, of the Greater Manchester Police’s public protection section, is appealing for any Rochdalians with fresh information to come forward.
“Eden has a history of being a risk to children and we are keen to find out where he is so he can be properly monitored and avoid any more children being put in danger,” she said. “Since he went missing, my officers have been carrying out extensive inquiries to trace Eden but we also need the public’s help.”
“If anyone has any information about where he is they should contact police at the earliest opportunity, we do not want people to take the law into their own hands. Eden is described as white, aged between 45 and 50, of medium build with brown shoulder-length hair. His four front teeth are false and are on a bridge.”
Joe Peters:-
I have information that Eden is now been placed under arrest, Greater Manchester Police Sex Offenders Management Unit has yet to confirm that Eden is been arrested, however Phil from Operation Cyber Tip also Operation find a child, has sent the following information:-
By: Mr R Fry
Subject: Andrew Jeremy Eden - In Custody in Mexico
Comments: I am not sure if you are associated with Joe Peters, but I found the link for your site, on his site.
Mr. Eden is currently in custody in Guadalajara Mexico, at the Puente Grande prison, pretrial detention area (Preventiva). Due to another case I had occasion to review the recent booking photos for the prison on 20sep2008. His arrest would have occurred in the last 10 days. His name and photo were among those which I saw. His hair is cut shorter, and lightened to look more blond. He is listed as a “teacher”. The charge was abbreviated, but appeared to be false identity.
Mr Peters:-
I am pleased that I passed information to the Greater Manchester Police 8 weeks ago, when I had located Andrew Eden, working in a school in mexico, by making the police know of the whereabouts of Mr Eden he has since been arrested and held in custody, yet another UK CEOP Most Wanted is behind bars, I would like to thank my friend in mexico for helping me, she has asked for her name not to be published and I totally respect her
EDEN CAPTURED:- JOE PETERS GIVES STORY TO ROCHDALEN OBSERVER NEWS:-
A FORMER Littleborough fireman, once listed as one of the UK’s most wanted criminals, is believed to have been arrested in Mexico.
Andrew Eden, who was jailed six years ago for molesting a child, vanished after being released from prison in 2003.
Eden, formerly of Whitelees Road, Littleborough, was placed on the sex offenders’ register and ordered to notify police of his address.
But when he failed to do so a manhunt was launched and in April last year the Observer published an appeal for his whereabouts.
Speaking at the time Detective Chief Inspector Carol Ashworth, of Greater Manchester Police’s public protection section, said: “Eden has a history of being a risk to children and we are keen to find out where he is so he can be monitored and avoid any more children being put in danger.”
His details were also posted on a website run by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, which helps track down missing convicts.
In 2005 three cash withdrawals were made under his name in Mexico and he is also thought to have lived across the UK and Northern Ireland.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “GMP has been informed that a 48-year-old man, wanted for failing to comply with notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act 2003, has been arrested in Mexico. The man was arrested on 13 September.
“Negotiation is currently underway between the British and Mexican Embassies to see if an extradition will be possible.”
